A Bit About Me

I grew up in a small mountain town in Colorado, one where you could walk any direction for five minutes and be on a hike. My town's culture of outdoor recreation instilled in me a deep connection to nature and intrinsic understanding of humanities' effect on nature. Every year was measured by the snowfall, and over my youth we saw each year become more erratic, found mercury deposits from power plants in China in the snow and had a massive pine beetle infestation in our forest due to lack of cold temperatures. The outdoors were as much my home as my house, and it broke my heart to not be able to take care of and stop the destruction we were witnessing. I decided I wanted to spend my life utilizing my skills as a creative person to help bridge the connection between humans and nature in hopes to create a better world for both. By the age of 12, I had decided architecture would be the avenue that I fulfilled that path.
